Rodrick Stewart Update

By Jerry Palm - April 04, 2008

SAN ANTONIO -- Not surprisingly, Rodrick Stewart, a fifth-year senior, will miss the Final Four. Coach Bill Self told the assembled media that he fractured his kneecap when he slipped and fell after an attempted dunk.

Self said that he told the freshmen they could dunk, but Stewart decided to join the party.

Self also said that the break was clean and his prognosis for a full recovery is good, but that will be small consolation.

He also thought the team seemed a bit shaken by the news. Sherron Collins said, "It sucks for him to go out like this," but that the team will try to use it as motivation.

Self said that, "This is not a great start for our experience here."
