UTEP drops four players

# Three part-time starters were among four players dismissed by UTEP coach Tony Barbee, who is preparing for his second season with six new signees. Leaving the program are sophomore forward Maurice Thomas of Philadelphia-Olney/Lutheran Christian, Pa (20 starts last season); freshman guard Malik Alvin of Philadelphia-Simon Gratz, Pa (20 starts); freshman forward Dale Vanwright of Houston-Bellaire, Tex (14 starts); and freshman center Franklin Jones of Niagara Falls, NY (redshirted).
