Tyler Smith cleared to play for Vols
# Forward Tyler Smith of Pulaski, Tenn/Hargrave MA, Va., a transfer from Iowa who averaged 14.9 points, 4.9 rebounds and 3.6 assists as a freshman, has been cleared to play this upcoming season at Tennessee.
The Vols put out a statement announcing that the NCAA has approved a waiver in which Smith won't have to sit out the season after transfering closer to home. Smith's father is sick with lung cancer.
