Oklahoma over Cincinnati, UConn and Kansas.
Van Coleman: Thoughts on Warren's commitment: "This is huge for Oklahoma. They just picked up a JUCO forward in Kyle Cannon on Thursday, and now this gives them a guy they can rely on for production and play either guard spot on both ends of the floor. Willie Warren is one of the impact scorers in the 2008 class and can get in a zone. He'll need to work on limiting the volume of shots he takes, but once he does he'll be a draft pick and really open things up for the Sooners with chances at Big 12 runs."

Van Coleman: Thoughts on Brown's commitment: This is a big commitment for Texas, their first for the class and also coming from an in-state player ranked in our Top 50. It's a little strange that he committed and did not sign, but I can see his possible reasoning of wanting to see who he's going to have coming in with him. They are still waiting on Tyreke Evans, the nation's top available player who visited the Longhorns earlier this month and is an expected spring signee."

Van Coleman: Thoughts on Singleton's commitment: "A huge commitment for Florida State. This gives them a next-level player who has the potential to be a future lottery pick. That might sound like a stretch since we only have him at No. 28, but this is a player in the development stages with a big upside. Singleton's spring-to-summer maturation was amazing. He went from a power inside player to a guy who could step out to 17 feet to shoot it or take it off the dribble. He's not 6-foot-6 doing this. He's 6-foot 8, 225 pounds doing this. He's got the potential to be a force in college."

Van Coleman: Thoughts on Jones' commitment: "This is a big get for West Virginia. It puts them in the New York market with Jones and Darryl Bryant having committed, and it's something they need to do in order to get done what Bob Huggins wants to get done. And that's get his traditional tough players. Jones gives them a go-to player for the future. Right now he's a mid-to-late Top 100 kid, but he could be a draft choice after 3-4 years of college. He's tough, he goes to the boards, and he has a much improved perimeter game."
On West Virginia's class ranking: "This moves WVU looking closer into the Top 25, or in the "Near Misses" category of our National Ranking. It moves them up from the No. 9 spot in the Big East and into either the No. 6, 7 or 8 spots with Rutgers and Pitt."

High school fanatics have already been talking about two outstanding prospects at Melbourne-Eau Gallie, Fla., in senior guard
Steven Coleman, who has committed to Ohio; and sophomore forward
Justin Jackson.
But colleges are also beginning to call senior 6-10 center
Robby Goldsmith, who has grown three inches and put on 20 pounds. He averaged 12 points, nine rebounds and four blocks in summer competition.
"Robby is kind of an unknown," says coach Brandon Palmer, who was named coach at Eau Gallie after two years as an assistant. "not a lot of people realize what he has become.
"Robby has come a long way since his sophomore year. He spent a lot of time in the weight room and is more mobile, filled out, tougher, stronger, more aggressive and meaner. He has more confidence and is realizing he can own both boards if he fights for the ball. Robby is very smart (3.83 GPA) and now has the size to block out and get position. Technically, he always knows what he is doing and has a great outside shot for a guy that size with three-point range, plus an inside jump hook. He even won the team three-point contest. Robby isn't a slasher, but does a great job of getting position and being open."
Goldsmith's new size and confidence is impressive. Palmer says the senior surprised him by starting to slam during summer games. "I looked at people around me and thought, hey, what do we suddenly have here?"
