Longhorns capture J'Covan Brown

By Bill Hodge - November 15, 2007

# Top 100 guard J'Covan Brown of Port Arthur-Memorial, Tex., rated No. 48 in Class 2008, pledged to Texas over Cincinnati, Baylor and Oklahoma State, among many others.

Van Coleman:
Thoughts on Brown's commitment: This is a big commitment for Texas, their first for the class and also coming from an in-state player ranked in our Top 50. It's a little strange that he committed and did not sign, but I can see his possible reasoning of wanting to see who he's going to have coming in with him. They are still waiting on Tyreke Evans, the nation's top available player who visited the Longhorns earlier this month and is an expected spring signee."
