Heels land Leslie McDonald
# Top 100 guard
Leslie McDonald of Memphis-Braircrest Christian, Tenn., ranked No. 17 in Class 2009, has given a commitment to
North Carolina over Duke, Georgetown, Memphis, Ohio State and Tennessee, among many others. The Heels now have pledges from five Class 2009 Top 100 prospects.

Stepheson to leave Heels
# Sophomore forward/center
Alex Stepheson of North Hollywood/Harvard-Westlake, Cal., is transfering from
North Carolina in order to be closer to his home in California because of family health issues. He played in 37 games last season.

Top guard Strickland picks Heels
# Top 100 guard
Dexter Strickland of Elizabeth-St. Patrick's, NJ., ranked No. 9 in Class 2009, is headed to
North Carolina over Florida and Michigan State. Among many others were Indiana, Arizona, Ohio State, Rutgers and Villanova.
The Heels recently gained three Class 2009 Top 100 forwards, including twins from Santa Ana-Mater Dei, Cal.,
Travis Wear, rated No. 23 overall; and
David Wear, ranked No. 30; plus
John Henson of Round Rock, Tex., rated No. 26.

# Junior forward Marcus Johnson of Los Angeles-Westchester, Cal., is transfering from
