QB Mallett to Michigan; NCSt, Ark, A&M, Minn, MissSt

# One of the nation's top quarterbacks, Ryan Mallett of Texarkana-Texas High, Tex., has announced for Michigan over Alabama, Florida State, Oklahoma and Notre Dame. Among many others were Texas, Nebraska, Mississippi and Arkansas.

# North Carolina State has its third commitment in receiver Steven Howard of Charlotte-Olympic, NC., who caught 49 passes as a junior.

# Class 2006 defensive back Lionel Smith of Houston- Bellaire, Tex., has chosen Texas A&M.

# Arkansas has a commitment from linebacker Tim Dial of Jenks, Okla.

# Mississippi State has a commitment from defensive lineman Korentheus Bailey of Gainesville-East Hall, Ga.

# Minnesota has pledges from tight end Colin McGarry of Stillwater, Minn; and offensive/defensive lineman Trey Davis of Farmington, Minn.
