# Virginia Tech has 20 commitments, including offensive lineman Khalil Latif of Midlothian-Manchester, Va; defensive back Alonzo Tweedy of Richmond-Hermitage, Va; and tight end Rhett Ellison of Mountain View-St. Francis, Cal.
# Tennessee pledged running back Josh Hawkins of Loudon, Tenn.
# Michigan State pledged offensive lineman Jack Cornell of Quincy-Notre Dame, Ill., over Illinois, Kentucky, Missouri, Nebraska, Purdue and Vanderbilt.
# Offensive lineman Stephen St. John of Irmo-Dutch Fork, SC., has committed to Maryland. The Terps now have eight verbals.
# Linebacker Chad Battles of Newport News-Heritage, Va., and defensive lineman/tight end Lamar Middleton of Newark-Shabazz, N.J., have chosen Syracuse.
# Receiver John Keye of Jackson, Ga., picked Kentucky over Louisville.
# Tight end/offensive lineman Dante Pinchback of Irving, Tex., committed to Kansas State over Missouri, among others.
# One of the nation's top offensive line prospects, James Wilson of St. Augustine-Nease, Fla., is set to announce on Tuesday (Aug 1) between the USC Trojans and Notre Dame. Among many others were Alabama, Clemson, Colorado, Florida, Florida State, Miami-Florida and Ohio State.
# Defensive back/receiver Devon Wallace of Graham-Southern Alamance, NC., has committed to East Carolina.
# Western Michigan pledged offensive lineman Andrew Yuds of Wales, Wis.
# Central Michigan has a commitment from offensive lineman Jake Olson of Hartford, Wis.
