# Tennessee has pledged defensive back Art Evans of Lakeland-Victory Christian, Fla.

# Washington has a commitment from quarterback Ronnie Fouch of Redlands-East Valley, Cal.

# Defensive back Ryan Smith (5-10 175) of LaPuente-Bishop Amat, Cal., who was named freshman All-America on Utah's undefeated team in 2004 under coach Urban Meyer, is transfering to Florida. Smith, who will graduate from Utah in two weeks, plans to attend graduate school at Florida and will be eligible to play for Meyer with the Gators in 2006 under a new NCAA rule that allows a player with eligibility left to transfer without having to redshirt if he has earned his degree. Smith redshirted as a freshman and played two years at Utah so he has two years of eligibility remaining.

# Tight end David Rue of Monroe-Richwood, La., has committed to Mississippi.

# Arkansas has pledged receiver Crosby Tuck of Springdale-Shiloh Christian, Ark.

# Defensive lineman Louis Nzegwu of Platteville, Wis., has committed to the Wisconsin Badgers.

# SMU has pledged quarterback Logan Turner of Springtown, Tex.

# UTEP has pledged quarterback Chasen Stangel of San Jacinto, Cal; and linebacker Richard Brooks of Mesquite-West Mesquite, Tex.
