# Touted backup quarterback Harrison Beck of Clearwater-Countryside, Fla., is transfering from Nebraska to North Carolina State. Beck's mother had told Husker media outlets that her son was frustrated playing behind starter Zac Taylor and Joe Ganz. Beck played in two games during 2005 as a true freshman, completing one of 10 passes for 21 yards with an interception.
# California has a commitment from Super Prospect running back Shane Vereen of Valencia, Cal., over USC, UCLA, Washington, Oregon, Stanford, Duke, Nebraska, Colorado, Mississippi and UNLV, among others.
# Texas Tech gained a commitment from receiver Jacob Amie of Tyler-Lee, Tex.
# Minnesota collected a commitment from defensive back Ryan Collado of Cincinnati-Hills Christian Academy, Ohio.
# Duke gained a commitment from defensive back Tony Jackson of Rochester-Bishop Kearny, NY.
# UConn gained a commitment from offensive lineman Mike Ryan of Tamaqua-Marian Catholic, Pa.
# Central Florida pledged receiver Sidney Haynes of Suwanee-Peachtree Ridge, Ga.
