# Tennessee picked up a verbal from Super Prospect defensive back CJ Fleming of Highland Springs, Va., over Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Virginia, Virginia Tech and West Virginia, among many others.

# Arizona State senior quarterback Sam Keller, who was named the starting quarterback on Friday only to lose the job to sophomore Rudy Carpenter two days later, may transfer to Nebraska. Keller, who started seven games for ASU last season before breaking his thumb, would have to redshirt and would have one season remaining. Keller was one of the top-rated passers in Division I-A in 2005 before he was hurt, completing 58 percent of his passes for 2,165 yards with 20 touchdowns and nine interceptions. Carpenter rallied the Sun Devils to a 4-1 record in their last five games last season and was named MVP of Arizona State's 45-40 victory over Rutgers in the Insight Bowl. He led Division I-A in pass efficiency by completing 68 percent of his passes for 2,273 yards with 17 touchdowns and only two interceptions. Koetter announced Keller would be the team's starting quarterback, but then abruptly reversed his decision after meeting with the school's athletic director and a group of team leaders.

# Running back Michael Houston of Denver-Montbello, Colo., has transfered from Texas to Washington. He played in two games as a freshman tailback for the national champion Longhorns last season.

# Linebacker Hunter Ovens of Sarasota-Cardinal Mooney, Fla., re-committed to Virginia Tech. Ovens had pledged to the Hokies earlier this month before withdrawing the commitment shortly afterwards.

# Colorado gained a commitment from offensive lineman Adam Tello of Norco, Cal.

# Colorado State pledged tight end Jacob Tigges of Tulsa-Union, Okla.

# Oregon State picked up a verbal from receiver Darrell Catchings of Escondido, Cal.

# Kansas State has pledged defensive back Curtis Thomas of Aldine, Tex.

# Northwestern has a commitment from tight end/linebacker Drake Dunsmore of Overland Park-St. Thomas Aquinas, Kan.
