# The Florida Gators have a commitment from one of the nation's top defensive linemen in Torrey Davis of Seffner-Armwood, Fla., over Florida State. Among many others were Southern Caliifornia, Clemson, Alabama, Georgia and West Virginia.

# Michigan has a commitment from athlete Marquis Maze of Birmingham-Tarrant, Ala.

# Mississippi State picked up its 22nd commitment in athlete Marcus Green of DeKalb-Kemper County, Miss., over Mississippi and Southern Mississippi.

# South Carolina has pledged defensive lineman Bryon McKnight of Laurinburg-Scotland County, NC.

# New Mexico pledged quarterback/punter Kevin Chavez of Santa Fe-St. Michael's, NM.

# Bowling Green has a commitment from receiver Raymond Hutson of Detroit-Urban Lutheran, Mich.
