Ballard to Hawks; Cal, TT, Stan, Hou

# One of the nation's top tight end prospects, Christian Ballard of Lawrence-Free State, Kan., has verballed to the Iowa Hawkeyes. Ballard, who decommitted from Kansas, also considered Michigan, Oklahoma, UCLA, Georgia, Arizona State and Kansas State, among others.

# California has a commitment from defensive/offensive lineman Justin Cheadle of Bakersfield, Cal., over Arizona State and Stanford, among others.

# Texas Tech pledged defensive lineman Lagrone Shields of Memphis-Ridgeway, Tenn., over Colorado and Mississippi.

# Stanford pledged defensive back Eddie Morgan of McKinney, Tex.

# Houston added pledges from defensive back B.K. Johnson of Silsbee, Tex; and receiver Tyrone Carrier of Houston-Worthing, Tex.
