# The Nebraska Cornhuskers pledged running back Roy Helu of Danville-San Ramon Valley, Cal., over Oregon, California and BYU.

# Purdue pledged defensive back Joe Holland of Indianapolis-Bishop Chatard, Ind., over Northwestern.

# Vanderbilt has a commitment from defensive back Kareem Jackson of Macon-Westside, Ga/Fork Union MA, Va.

# Michigan State has a Class 2008 pledge from receiver Corey Johnson of Muskegon, Mich.

# Central Florida has pledged quarterback Nate Tice of Edina, Minn., the son of former NFL Vikings coach Mike Tice.

# Northern Illinois has pledged defensive lineman/tight end Ron Newcomb of Chicago-Mt. Carmel, Ill., over Wyoming.
