"Denver, GORGEOUS - the Sunshine State!"

Did you know that Denver has over 300 days of sunshine each year? That's said to be more than Miami or San Diego. This little tidbit was posted on the arena video board so it must be true. To quote the movie Slap Shot, "that's what it says in the yearbook, Jim." The sun was technically out for about 10 minutes before I took this photo. I'm pretty sure they counted the whole day as a "sunshine" day.

Denver also claims to have been the birthplace of the term "cheeseburger.". Again, the video board doesn't lie.

It's An All-Skate

Today is championship day and to get the day started off right, the Pepsi Center ice was opened up to the general public for free. Nike Bauer offered up free skates to anyone who wanted to come in and skate around the championship ice. These kids were having the time of their lives on the Frozen Four ice.

There was a concert?

Apparently, the message about there being a concert in Skyline Park as part of the College Hockey Celebration in Denver was lost on most of the Ice Hockey fans in town. The band "Opie Gone Bad" played before a captive audience of... well you can count.
