37-17...Unhappy Again

By Amsinger - November 13, 2006

Sure, Rutgers beating Louisville didn't come from this blog. Neither did Georgia over Auburn, but I still had my fair share of solid picks. Arizona State over Washington State wasn't bad, I'm actually proud of taking Wake Forest over Florida State (I was the only to do so on Crystal Ball). Colorado over Iowa State wasn't exactly rocket science and...uh...San Diego State over UNLV - ah, forget it. The upsets really ruined my record.

I'm ready for week twelve and can't wait to predict the upcoming Michigan vs. Ohio State game. Matter of fact, since that game is really the ONLY game that matters in the grand landscape of college football - to honor it, I will only give scores for all other games. No explanations. Just scores...yeah, this game is THAT big.

And I'm sick of spending so much time telling you why Maryland is going to lose, only to see them make me look like an idiot, week after week.

Before we get started, let's rundown my weekly progress:

Week 1: 61-12
Week 2: 46-18
Week 3: 47-15
Week 4: 43-15
Week 5: 38-17
Week 6: 38-18
Week 7: 34-20
Week 8: 40-16
Week 9: 34-19
Week 10: 41-14
Week 11: 37-17

My overall record stands at 459-181. The goal is to get to 500 wins before the 200 loss plateau.

Can I do it? Let's find out...

BIG TEN CONFERENCE: 5-1 last week, 66-16 in this league.

Michigan - 20
OHIO ST. - 24

*With all the talk about Michigan's defense, get ready for this. The Buckeyes' D forces a 4th quarter turnover that sparks a come-from-behind rally. Troy Smith wins the Heisman with a second half for the ages. Expect the Wolverines to score on their first two drives and look unbeatable. Like so many Lloyd Carr teams, this group of Wolverines lose their killer instinct in the second half and allow the Buckeyes to hold on to their #1 ranking. While Michigan fans will be upset with me, it's not all bad. Since the game will be close, the four point loss ensures a rematch in Glendale, Arizona for the BCS National Championship. That's right, rematch...bad news BCS.
