Round 2 of Week 3

By Amsinger - September 11, 2007

Okay, so I just learned how to put pictures on my blog and I enjoy blogging more than ever!!! I hope you are enjoying my picks from the ACC, Big 12, Big East, Big Ten and MAC. Of course you want more and I'm here to bring it in this sizzling, hot edition of OFF PROMPTER!!!!

CONFERENCE USA: 8-0 last week, 14-5 overall in this league.

Texas - 27
UCF - 28

UPSET SPECIAL #1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BJ's Mad Now! (cstv.com)

*Oh my goodness! How in the hell can I have ANY credibility and pick a game like this!!?? Texas is stumbling, out of sync and ready to lose on the road! This isn't just any road game either. It's the first game inside the brank spanking new Bright House Networks Stadium in Orlando. The crowd of 45,000 will go wild as the improved Knights look to go 7-1 in home openers all time. Mack Brown can only watch and admire a real running game as UCF's Kevin Smith steam-rolls the Longhorns.

Smith: 35 carries, 203 yds, 3 TD

McCoy: 26-43, 247 yds, 2 TD, 3 INT; 10 carries, 77 yds, 1 TD
Charles: 23 carries, 90 yds, 1 TD
Cosby: 6 catches, 100 yds, 1 TD

New Hampshire - 31
MARSHALL - 41

*I know what you're thinking - WHAT??? Marshall almost beat West Virginia! How can they ONLY win by ten against 1AA New Hampshire???? Hold on, NHU's QB Ricky Santos is the defending Payton Award Winner. He may be NFL good - SERIOUSLY! Santos doesn't have a defense to depend on - but he does have an arm that will keep New Hampshire close. Keep your chin up Mark Snyder, you're doing great things in Huntington.

Morris: 22-30, 271 yds, 2 TD, 3 INT; 10 carries, 78 yds, 2 TD
Passmore: 6 catches, 112 yds, 2 TD

Santos: 38-55, 348 yds, 4 TD, 4 INT

SO. MISSISSIPPI - 31
East Carolina - 27

Come on Skippy! (irishlegends.com)

*What a great game! Fans in Greenville are getting spoiled with fantastic football!!! After beating UNC last week in dramatic fashion, the Pirates will actually LOSE because of kicker Ben Hartman. I know the sophomore kicker was the story last week by bouncing back and hitting the game-winner when he already missed three field goals. But, he really is going to cost ECU games they should win. This will be the first. In the preseason I thought Southern Miss. would blow out the Pirates in this one, but Skip Holtz is doing amazing things and will get a bigger and better job next season because of it (I'm saying Virginia). RB Damion Fletcher is about to begin his CUSA domination this week.

Young: 15-28, 205 yds, 2 TD, 1 INT
Fletcher: 33 carries, 192 yds, 2 TD

Pinkney: 27-44, 280 yds, 2 TD, 4 INT; 10 carries, 51 yds

Alcorn St. - 10
UAB - 27

*Bobby Bowden is happy as hell to have the Blazers out of Tallahassee. UAB brought everything it had to face the Seminoles and they almost pulled off the upset. Alcorn State will think it can off a similar feat and they will in a way. A competitive loss.

Hunt: 15-32, 184 yds, 1 TD, 2 INT; 12 carries, 105 yds, 1 TD
Slaughter: 14 carries, 62 yds, 1 TD

So. Methodist - 20
ARKANSAS ST. - 24

SMU Will Win Conference USA! (cstv.com)

*I wanted to pick SMU, but they're too inconsisent for me. I like their roster, but keep in mind this week's opponent almost beat TEXAS!!! Also, Arkansas State's home opener vs. Memphis was postponed and fans are eager to get the party started. Sophomore QB Corey Leonard is the real deal for the Indians. Watch him pick apart a bad Mustang defense.

Leonard: 17-29, 244 yds, 2 TD, 2 INT; 17 carries, 127 yds, 1 TD
Arnold: 15 carries, 72 yds

Willis: 21-43, 248 yds, 1 TD, 3 INT; 13 carries, 72 yds

HOUSTON - 23
Tulane - 21

*Too close for comfort for HC Art Briles. After a dismal performance on the road against Oregon, the Cougars enjoyed a bye week and come out flat in New Orleans. Without RB Anthony Alridge, this Houston club would be in trouble.

Keenum: 17-37, 237 yds, 1 TD, 3 INT
Alridge: 30 carries, 158 yds, 2 TD

UTEP - 20
NEW MEXICO ST. - 37

Do You Know Who I Am? (yahoo.com)

*After letting an upset over Texas Tech slip away the Miners lose to WAC version of the Red Raiders. QB Chase Holbrook is the real deal folks. If you haven't seen this 6'5 junior play - you should! His completion percentage is out of this world (73%) and despite a few poor decisions (he does have 5 picks already in two games) he's an NFL lock.

Holbrook: 35-49, 420 yds, 4 TD, 2 INT
Williams: 9 catches, 153 yds, 2 TD

Thomas: 16 carries, 105 yds, 1 TD

Jacksonville St. - 6
MEMPHIS - 49

*Keep in mind when reading this rare Memphis blowout victory that this team is one of the most improved in the country...because Phil Steele says so. QB Martin Hankins stops chucking the rock and keeps in on the ground for the sound, clean, pounding - fans in Memphis have been expecting for months.

Hankins: 21-30, 250 yds, 3 TD, 0 INT
Doss: 34 carries, 217 yds, 3 TD

TEXAS TECH - 58
Rice - 9

*HC Mike Leach should be mentioned for the Michigan job when Lloyd Carr steps down at the end of the year. After this blowout win, the Red Raiders HC will be 59-33 in 8 seasons in Lubbock. He's turned this program into a consistent conference power. WR Michael Crabtree is a contender for national freshman of the year.

Harrell: 40-56, 469 yds, 6 TD, 1 INT
Crabtree: 12 catches, 183 yds, 3 TD

BYU - 44
Tulsa - 17

B-Y-Unga!!! (yahoo.com)

*This is SOOOOOO close to an upset special! Tulsa may be favored in this one (I wouldn't know, never look at "the line") and is playing at home. But there's no way they beat the Bruins, even if BYU is fresh off a loss and they've lost some wind in their sails. Harvey Unga is a special talent for the Cougars and his ability to catch out of the backfield will throw Tulsa into the loss column for the first time this season.

Hall: 37-52, 415 yds, 4 TD, 2 INT
Unga: 14 carries, 118 yds, 1 TD; 6 catches, 90 yds

Smith: 25-45, 298 yds, 2 TD, 4 INT

INDEPENDENTS: 4-0 last week, 7-1 overall.

E. Kentucky - 28
W. KENTUCKY - 37

*There is NO WAY WKU loses this rivalry game after almost score 14,000 points last week.

Notre Dame - 10
MICHIGAN - 27

I'll say it again...WE WILL WIN!!! (BigTen.com)

*I'm calling this one the "BLAH BOWL." Thankfully RB Mike Hart gave us a reason to care about this game by saying "We WILL beat Notre Dame." At least we'll tune in to see if he's right or not. Seriously though, both programs will be better next year and so will their true freshman quarterbacks. In many ways, this game could be historic considering it's the first of possibly FOUR meetings betwen QB Jimmy Clausen and QB Ryan Mallett.

Mallett: 20-30, 237 yds, 2 TD, 2 INT
Hart: 34 carries, 175 yds, 1 TD

Clausen: 17-42, 162 yds, 1 TD, 3 INT

Army - 0
WAKE FOREST - 17

*SNOOZER!!!! Army picked up its' first win under new HC Stan Brock (as I predicted) but still cannot find a way to score. The Demon Deacons ALMOST beat a very good Nebraska team with its' second string QB. The Decon offense stumbles again this week - even with QB Riley Skinner rushed back, but they do get their fist win of the season.

Skinner: 10-21, 130 yds, 0 TD, 1 INT
Andrews: 20 carries, 83 yds, 1 TD
Moore: 10 carries, 71 yds, 1 TD; 6 catches, 90 yds

Ball St. - 17
NAVY - 41

*After losing to Rutgers, HC Paul Johnson will have the Mids ready to make a statement on CSTV. Navy is on the verge of becoming almost too good to keep Johnson in Annapolis. Watch out, he could be considered for the Syracuse job.

Ballard: 21 carries, 128 yds, 2 TD
White: 25 carries, 102 yds, 2 TD

MOUNTAIN WEST CONFERENCE: 7-1 last week, 11-5 overall in this league.

TCU - 28
Air Force - 10

*HC Troy Calhoun deserves credit in Colorado Springs. Here comes a first-year head coach who's been coaching NFL quarterbacks for years and walks into a situation where Air Force is married to the wishbone. Many skeptics believed he would bury the bone and throw the ball 30 times a game. He hasn't done that and guess what? The Falcons are 2-0. Last week's win over Utah was impressive, but the Utes were without injured QB Brian Johnson. TCU's starting defense is totally healthy and that's why the Horned Frogs will be ready to put last week's Texas loss behind them on the road.

Dalton: 20-27, 226 yds, 1 TD, 1 INT
Christian: 14 carries, 66 yds, 1 TD
Massey: 6 catches, 93 yds, 1 TD

Carney: 10-18, 182 yds, 0 TD, 1 INT; 25 carries, 126 yds, 1 TD

New Mexico - 13
ARIZONA - 42

Willie's World (azstarnet.com)

*Willie Tuitama is finally back on track! Let's face it, his sophomore season was a dud after so many bright moments his freshman year. He threw 5 touchdowns last week and I expect more of the same from one of the Pac-Ten's rising stars.

Tuitama: 30-43, 353 yds, 4 TD, 1 INT
Turner: 7 catches, 115 yds, 1 TD
Johnson: 5 catches, 94 yds, 2 TD

UCLA - 28
Utah - 6

*Bad mix Utah fans. Without QB Brian Johnson, the offense is terrible. Add a STELLAR Bruin defense and it's an 0-3 start for HC Kyle Whittingham. It's hard to believe it hasn't even been three years since this program finished 13-0.

Olson: 20-34, 230 yds, 2 TD, 0 INT
Bell: 23 carries, 132 yds, 1 TD
Markey: 12 carries, 67 yds

Wyoming - 17
BOISE ST. - 34

*Just because I picked Boise St. to lose last week doesn't mean I'm calling for the Broncos to completely fall apart! This is still a very good team and so is Wyoming. Many of my "picking competitors" are calling for Wyoming to pull off the upset - WHAT? Sorry, while the Cowboys aren't done winning this season, the Smurf Turf belongs to the Broncos.

Tharp: 24-36, 270 yds, 2 TD, 2 INT
Johnson: 30 carries, 132 yds, 2 TD

BYU - 44
Tulsa - 17

HAWAII - 55
UNLV - 14

BCS Buster Boy (midweek.com)

*Rebel fans are going to hate me, this I know. BUT...Wisconsin's offense is no where NEAR the Warriors. AND, Hawaii is fresh off a terrible defensive performance against Louisiana Tech and had to go to OT to beat them. HC June Jones was all over his squad this week in practice and the Warriors will be ready for an overachieving UNLV squad.

Brennan: 44-63, 483 yds, 6 TD, 2 INT
Bess: 15 catches, 212 yds, 3 TD
Rivers: 10 catches, 135 yds, 1 TD

San Diego St. - 17
ARIZONA ST. - 31

*Chuck Long is getting there, just not there yet. The Aztecs schedule is tough and Arizona State is my sleeper to win the Pac-Ten (Cal is my favorite). Unlike HC Long, Dennis Erickson stepped into a sweeeet situation in Tempe. Rudy Carpenter is playing up to his potention and with Torain and Herring in the backfield, the Aztecs don't stand a chance.

Carpenter: 27-42, 302 yds, 3 TD, 1 INT
Torain: 20 carries, 131 yds, 1 TD
Herring: 12 carries, 47 yds; 5 catches, 77 yds, 1 TD

PAC-TEN CONFERENCE: 7-1 last week, 14-3 overall in this league.

New Mexico - 13
ARIZONA - 42

*Willie Tuitama is finally back on track! Let's face it, his sophomore season was a dud after so many bright moments his freshman year. He threw 5 touchdowns last week and I expect more of the same from one of the Pac-Ten's rising stars.

Tuitama: 30-43, 353 yds, 4 TD, 1 INT
Turner: 7 catches, 115 yds, 1 TD
Johnson: 5 catches, 94 yds, 2 TD

UCLA - 28
Utah - 6

Hey Coach, Are The Glory Days Back? (dallasnews.com)

Ohio State - 24
WASHINGTON - 27

UPSET SPECIAL #4!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*Tyrone Willingham is the Pac-Ten Coach of the Year after week three! First, he hands Boise State it's first loss since '05. THEN, it beats THEEEE Ohio State University! QB Jake Locker is the real deal. He's a dual-threat talent who's emerged as the immediate leader of the Huskies. Meanwhile, OSU doesn't have a star at the QB position. Todd Boeckman was pulled late last week against Akron for big 6'6, 245 lbs Rob Schoenhoft and the sophomore looked better. I predict HC Jim Tressel sticks with Boeckman for the last time. The Huskies are back!

Locker: 17-31, 174 yds, 2 TD, 1 INT; 15 carries, 80 yds, 1 TD
Rankin: 20 carries, 108 yds

Boeckman: 13-29, 133 yds, 0 TD, 3 INT
Wells: 28 carries, 125 yds, 2 TD
Saine: 9 carries, 53 yds, 1 TD

La. Tech - 23
CALIFORNIA - 45

I'm Bringin' Cally Back - What?! (ebdailynews.com)

*Way to go Louisiana Tech - for ALMOST beating Hawaii. Despite winning, Cal is pissed and ready to make a statement after an ugly win on the road at Colorado State. I have two words for you...#1 DESEAN #2 JACKSON.

Longshore: 30-44, 352 yds, 4 TD, 1 INT
Forsett: 22 carries, 120 yds, 1 TD
Jackson: 9 catches, 180 yds, 2 TD; 1 KR TD

Idaho State - 17
OREGON ST. - 20

*HC Mike Riley is holding the Beavers back by not sticking with ONE QUARTERBACK!!!! Both may be terrible, but let the offensive line, running backs and wideouts get used to ONE OF THEM!!! He won't and that's why OSU almost loses at home to a decent Idaho State team.

Bernard: 26 carries, 158 yds, 2 TD; 6 catches, 51 yds

Fresno St. - 24
OREGON - 44

*I'm not sure if HC Pat Hill wants to retract his, "We'll play anyone anywhere" comment. Fresno State would have a much better record come November 30th, if they didn't play Texas A&M, Oregon and Kansas State. But, here they are...about to lose to one of the hottest teams in America.

Dixon: 24-31, 279 yds, 3 TD, 0 INT; 14 carries, 118 yds, 2 TD
Stewart: 18 carries, 103 yds
Johnson: 12 carries, 66 yds

USC - 20
NEBRASKA - 23

UPSET SPECIAL #2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Who Did You Pick Greg? (brendanloy.com)

*Defense reigns supreme in Bill Callahan's marquee victory at Nebraska. The Huskers RB Marlon Lucky will be the workhorse in this contest. Callahan refers back to the game plan in week one against Nevada - he's running the ball all day. QB Sam Keller threw 5 picks the last time he faced USC as the starting QB for Arizona State. Callahan doesn't want to put too much pressure on Sam this week and the smaller role helps Keller shine. USC's John David Booty is NOT a Heisman contender after this crucial blow to HC Pete Carroll.

Keller: 17-23, 184 yds, 1 TD, 1 INT
Lucky: 33 carries, 190 yds, 1 TD

Booty: 23-43, 263 yds, 2 TD, 3 INT
Gable: 14 carries, 74 yds
Johnson: 12 carries, 35 yds

San Jose St. - 10
STANFORD - 13

*I'm sorry I reminded you this game is being played.

Idaho - 14
WASH. ST. - 30

*Idaho does have a decent defense...and it will slow down QB Alex Brink in the first half. But eventuall the Cougars pull away. I like this WSU squad and I think Bill Doba's club has more than a few Pac-Ten upset victories in store for us this season.

Brink: 29-45, 338 yds, 3 TD, 2 INT
Tardy: 14 carries, 83 yds
Bumpus: 9 catches, 158 yds, 2 TD

SOUTHEASTERN CONFERENCE: 8-1 last week, 15-3 overall in this league.

Mississippi St. - 10
AUBURN - 27

This Is Getting Old! (media.scout.com)

*I've said it too many times. Brandon Cox is the most overrated quarterback in the SEC. There, I said it again. Luckily for him, he'll be the best QB on the field as poor HC Sylvester Croom has an absolute nightmare situation at the position right now. Keep in mind Auburn fans, trips to Florida, Arkansas, LSU and Georgia are still looming.

Cox: 18-35, 213 yds, 1 TD, 2 INT
Tate: 13 carries, 78 yds, 1 TD
Lester: 10 carries, 36 yds, 1 TD

Henig: 12-29, 107 yds, 0 TD, 4 INT
Dixon: 29 carries, 115 yds, 1 TD

W. Carolina - 0
GEORGIA - 34

*Easy win that hopefully will change the moods of thousands in Athens. Losing to South Carolina sucks if you're a Bulldog fan and a shutout win over WCU won't completely help them get over it. Don't worry though, an SEC road win over Nick Saban may do the trick next week.

Stafford: 25-36, 277 yds, 3 TD, 1 INT
Moreno: 17 carries, 137 yds, 1 TD
Bailey: 5 catches, 111 yds, 1 TD

Tennessee - 27
FLORIDA - 28

They Don't Even Know I Can Fly Too! (usatoday.com)

*Who's ready for a classic in the Swamp? MEEEEE!!!!! I can't wait to arrive in Gainesville and kickoff the "Chick-fil-A SEC Tailgate" with Gator great Terry Jackson and former Bulldog David Pollack. It's an hour-long pregame show that will get the most die-hard SEC fans up-to-speed on everything taking place in the best conference in college football. The show airs Saturday, at noon eastern on CSTV. As for this game, expect Tim Tebow to play the best game of his college career. He may not reach career highs in stats, but he will make big play after big play to help the Gators regain their glory as the best in the SEC East.

Tebow: 17-27, 255 yds, 1 TD, 0 INT; 15 carries, 97 yds, 2 TD
Moore: 20 carries, 105 yds, 1 TD
Harvin: 5 catches, 120 yds, 1 TD

ARKANSAS - 24
Alabama - 14

*Just too much talent on the ground for Alabama to stop. McFadden and Jones will dictate this game. If they play at an average level, Arkansas wins. If they play an above average game, it will be a blowout. I'm expecting somewhere in between. I love 'Bama's redshirt freshman RB Terry Grant...his explosiveness will get the Tide on the board first, but then "The Wildcat" takes over. Darren McFadden will make this his 2007 Heisman Debut. The day he sits in New York and watches his Heisman highlight reel play on the big screens he'll admire a trio of dandies from this game. One more thing, don't think losing WR Marcus Monk for this game will hurt the Hogs, they don't need to throw the rock to win in Tuscaloosa.

McFadden: 5-8, 108 yds, 1 TD, 0 INT; 27 carries, 116 yds, 1 TD
Jones: 18 carries, 81 yds, 1 TD

Wilson: 18-32, 174 yds, 0 TD, 2 INT
Grant: 23 carries, 114 yds, 2 TD

Ole Miss - 14
VANDY - 16

*The Commodores are competitive this year and a 4th quarter comeback against the Rebels give reason for even more optimism in Nashville. Vandy will be 2-1 after this, then 3-1 after they beat up on Eastern Michigan. HC Bobby Johnson will be one major upset away from a possible bowl game since I predict they'll beat Miami (OH) and Wake Forest this season.

Adams: 18-30, 157 yds, 0 TD, 1 INT
Jennings: 14 carries, 80 yds, 1 TD
Bennett: 8 catches, 90 yds

S. Carolina St. - 9
S. CAROLINA - 34

Ah...The Joys of Winning (orangeandbluehue.com)

*Watch out! The Head Ball Coach is back! Spurrier has a legitimate contender for this conference on his hands and this "rivalry" game will be one more step towards his goal of proving so many "experts" (like me) wrong. South Carolina's defense may be the 2nd best in this league, next to LSU. South Carolina STATE will learn this...good luck.

Mitchell: 28-35, 270 yds, 3 TD, 0 INT
McKinley: 10 catches, 121 yds, 2 TD
Boyd: 20 carries, 113 yds, 1 TD

Louisville - 45
KENTUCKY - 55

UPSET SPECIAL #3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Take That U of LOSS! (tigerweekly.com)

*Come on, you would be upset if I didn't do this. The Wildcats are my pick to win the SEC!!!! Partner that statement with Louisville's near LOSS to MIDDLE TENNESSEE and my upset pick isn't so special. Kentucky's defense will always be suspect, but no team in America has an offensive trio like QB Andre Woodson, RB Rafael Little and WR Keenan Burton. Expect an absolute classic that will reinvent the way fans view college football in the blue-grass state.

Woodson: 40-54, 428 yds, 5 TD, 2 INT
Little: 19 carries, 104 yds, 2 TD; 5 catches, 77 yds
Burton: 10 catches, 210 yds, 2 TD

Brohm: 37-58, 365 yds, 4 TD, 3 INT
Douglas: 14 catches, 206 yds, 2 TD

M. Tennessee - 13
LSU - 41

*Give it up to Middle Tennessee! They almost shocked the world and beat Louisville, now they hit the road to play another national title contender. This time, not so close. HC Rick Stockstill is one of the next coaching stars in this sport and he'll have his Blue Raiders ready to hang with the Tigers in the first half. Glen Dorsey and the defense will wear down this pack of Sun Belters and backup QB Ryan Perrilloux will get even more plays under center and look better than Matt Flynn once again.

Flynn: 19-32, 163 yds, 2 TD, 2 INT
Perrilloux: 10-13, 135 yds, 2 TD, 0 INT
Doucet: 9 catches, 150 yds, 2 TD

SUN BELT CONFERENCE: 6-1 last week, 12-2 overall in this league.

OKIE ST. - 42
Troy - 17

*The Cowboys are bouncing back nicely from their opening day loss in Athens. Losing QB Bobby Reid to injury in the first quarter against FAU had fans in Stillwater holding their breath. Backup Zac Robinson was stellar filling in for Reid. Now, there are rumors Robinson may have taken the gig away from Reid. That's not the case. Reid won't play against Troy because...well, it's Troy. Let his knee and ankle heal and Bobby will be back.

Robinson: 24-35, 285 yds, 3 TD, 1 INT
Bowman: 7 catches, 145 yds, 2 TD

MINNESOTA - 20
Florida Atlantic - 14

*Ugly road win for the Gophers. But at this point, a win is a win. Last week's OT barn-burner against Miami (OH) was too close for comfort for new HC Tim Brewster, but it was a thrilling way to energize the hometown crowd. This week, the offense struggles against an FAU defense that's looking to repeat its' week one performance against a Middle Tennessee squad that scored 42 against Louisville.

Weber: 20-37, 225 yds, 1 TD, 3 INT
Pinnix: 26 carries, 129 yds, 1 TD

Florida Int. - 14
MIAMI - 24

*OH NO!!! FIU brings the heat to HC Randy Shannon who's honeymoon is officially over. The Hurricanes were exposed in Norman and this week they remind us how hard it is to rebound after a shallaking like the one OU handed out. The 'Canes offense is so bad right now, after two games they STILL don't have a QB that's passed for at least 100 yards this season!!!! Miami better wake up because next week Texas A&M is coming to town!!!!

Wright: 12-18, 165 yds, 1 TD, 1 INT
James: 15 carries, 102 yds, 1 TD

La. Monroe - 27
TEXAS A&M - 49

*No more overtime suspense for HC Dennis Franchione. Last week's home win over Fresno State was vital for the Aggies. This is a fragile bunch in my opinion. Depth is a concern and any early season stumble will completely change the complection of A&M's season. QB Stephen McGee is LOVING his two-headed monster in the backfield in Javorskie Lane and Michael Goodson. This duo will expose any defensive front and Louisiana Monroe's is prime for the pickin'.

McGee: 14-18, 253 yds, 2 TD, 1 INT; 12 carries, 122 yds, 2 TD
Lane: 17 carries, 108 yds, 1 TD
Goodson: 15 carries, 67 yds, 1 TD

McNeese St. - 7
LA. LAFAYETTE - 24

*Keep in mind, this Ragin' Cajun team rushed for over 250 yards against SOUTH CAROLINA!!! McNeese State may be 1-0, but Portland State isn't exactly the same level as South Carolina and Ohio. QB Michael Desormeaux is a star in the Sun Belt and he may win Conference Player of the Year...you just watch.

Desormeaux: 14-20, 145 yds, 1 TD, 1 INT; 13 carries, 100 yds, 2 TD
Fenroy: 20 carries, 98 yds

So. Methodist - 20
ARKANSAS ST. - 24

WESTERN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE: 7-1 last week, 16-1 overall in this league.

Utah State - 0
OKLAHOMA - 62

*We may be looking at the best team in America.

Bradford: 15-20, 270 yds, 3 TD, 0 INT
Murray: 18 carries, 157 yds, 3 TD
Gresham: 4 catches, 85 yds, 1 TD

Fresno St. - 24

La. Tech - 23
CALIFORNIA - 45

*Way to go Louisiana Tech - for ALMOST beating Hawaii. Despite winning, Cal is pissed and ready to make a statement after an ugly win on the road at Colorado State. I have two words for you...#1 DESEAN #2 JACKSON.

Longshore: 30-44, 352 yds, 4 TD, 1 INT
Forsett: 22 carries, 120 yds, 1 TD
Jackson: 9 catches, 180 yds, 2 TD; 1 KR TD

UTEP - 20
NEW MEXICO ST. - 37

Nicholls St. - 13
NEVADA - 27

*Nicholls State's undefeated season and run of beating Division 1A teams comes to an end (they beat lowly Rice to open the season...HEY! That's good for them!). Nevada returns to the win column after handing away a win at Northwestern.

HAWAII - 55
UNLV - 14
