Some Pre-game Stats and Facts

Norfolk, Va. -- Here are some interesting statistics for you as we await tip-off.

Old Dominion boasts an enrollment of 21,500, just over three times that of Georgetown.

Blaine Taylor, Old Dominion's head coach who may or may not be a long-lost Van Gundy brother (google him), is 121-71 years guiding the Monarchs. In three season at Georgetown, John Thompson III is 72-30.

Georgetown was picked to finish first in the Big East, while CAA coaches tabbed ODU third.

Since the Constant Center opened in 2002, Old Dominion is 65-14 at home. The Monarchs are 3-0 this year and finished 15-2 last year. They went 14-1 at home in each of the previous two seasons.

Old Dominion leads the all-time series, 2-1. In addition to last season's win, they defeated the Hoyas 80-58 in 1976-77. Georgetown won its game two seasons later.

Roy Hibbert, at 7-foot-2, will be checked for only the second or third time of his career (awaiting a final word on this) by someone taller. ODU's Sam Harris stands 7-foot-3. Hibbert, however, has had a far more impressive career to date. After three games of working against significantly smaller opponents, it will be interesting to see how he looks against someone his own size.
