Xavier-Dayton Preview

CINCINNATI, Ohio -- The capacity crowd has filled up Xavier University's sparkling Cintas Center and everyone is all set for perhaps the biggest game in the history of the long Xavier-Dayton rivalry. This is just the second time that both schools have been ranked at the time when playing each other. Given the high profile of both teams -- as well as the Atlantic 10 Conference -- this season, this match-up has received a significant amount of local, regional and national attention.

Dayton has used its depth to upset Louisville and Pitt this season, but the Flyers are banged up - two key players are out with injuries. Look for Xavier to try to exploit the Flyers lack of healthy bodies in the post. Jason Love, the Musketeers' emerging big man, figures to get plenty of touches early in the game. Xavier will use a number of different defensive strategies to try to contain star Dayton guard Brian Roberts. Roberts has shown an ability to take over a game, and he'll need to do that tonight if the Flyers have a chance at snapping streak of 22 straight losses against Xavier in Cincinnati.

The game's on CSTV national television, but keep it here as well for updates at the commercial breaks and at halftime. We'll have a belated post-game wrap-up, but the parking situation here at Cintas Center is mangled, to put it nicely.
