Big 12: Bring on the Rain

SAN ANTONIO -- The storm has arrived in this final day of the Big 12 media blitz here in San Antonio, as the rain from the deluge outside is leaking through the ceiling in the back of the ballroom at the St. Anthony hotel. The foul weather has not dampened Kansas State's spirits, however, as the team still plans to make a trip to the Alamo Dome later this afternoon.

This year's Big 12 championship game will be played in the Alamo Dome, so second-year head coach Ron Prince is hoping to give his players a chance to get a feel for the place before fall camp even begins.

"We've made it very clear that as a team our goal is to play in there December 1, so we'd like to go back to the team and report on what that facility looks like," Prince said.

Being picked to finish third in the North has had no effect on Prince's pre-season preparations or expectations.

"Let the pickers pick and let the players play," he said.
