A Little Bit More Like It

BLACKSBURG, Va. - It took 46 minutes and 53 seconds, ladies and gentlemen, but Virginia Tech has its first offensive touchdown of the 2007 season. A 21-yard pass from Sean Glennon to tight end Sam Wheeler and a successful point after by Jud Dunlevy, and it's 17-7 Hokies.

It was a short drive for the Hokies, starting at the ECU 48, and Branden Ore was able to rush effectively once the Hokies got to the 35, eventually setting up the TD pass for Glennon.

At this point, ECU is losing the ability to be conservative on offense, as scoring twice on the ECU defense will not be easy, particularly with the sort of sustained drive that led to the Pirates' previous score.

It's also worth noting that Jared Develli has a cannon of a leg, with three touchbacks on kickoffs. So much for the new kickoff placement making a big difference in Blacksburg.
