Attitude Adjustment

AUSTIN, TX -- A different team came out of the Texas locker room after halftime.

The team that entered the locker room had totaled 0 points and 137 yards of total offense. The team that exited has come out and put up 17 points and 176 yards in first 16 minutes of the second half.

Early in the fourth quarter, Texas leads TCU 17-10.

Texas clearly got an attitude adjustment at halftime.

As if to emphasize that they meant business, Mack Brown replaced tailback burner Jamaal Charles with 225-pound bruiser Chris Ogbannaya. Colt McCoy also got an attitude adjustment. After averaging less than eight yards per completion in the first half, McCoy hit Quan Cosby for a 16-yard gainer on the second play after intermission. Then five plays later, he rolled right to avoid the rush and found Nate Jones streaking into the end zone for a 33-yard TD to make it 10-7.

On Texas' third possession, McCoy engineered an 81-yard game-tying drive that included a 22-yard pass to Jermichael Finley and a 21-yard pass to Jones.

After TCU fumbled the ensuing kickoff, McCoy pulled off a 23-yard scramble to the two-yard line, and freshman RB Vondrell McGee punched it in two plays later.

With 14:09 remaining, it’s TCU's turn to make adjustments.
