Bright House Upset?

ORLANDO - The third quarter belonged to the UCF Knights.

This has been a running back battle with UCF's Kevin Smith leading the way. Smith has 137 yards on 20 carries and two TDs and his huge 32-yard run after a Colt McCoy interception by Joe Burnett gave UCF the ball deep in Texas territory.

Smith was hurt on the tackle, but another Smith, Phillip, came into the game and immediately gained 11 yards to put the Knights on the two yard line as the third quarter ended.

The Knights are running all over the Longhorns so far in the second half. And that was even more evident when QB Kyle Israel sneaked right on 4th and 1 at the goal line for the TD that put the Knights ahead.

With 13:38 remaining in the fourth quarter, UCF is WINNING, 24-23.

UCF is winning.

UCF punts with 7:38 to go in 3rd quarter. Texas ball, 1st and 10 on the 21

Texas' Jamaal Charles is being overshadowed by Smith. The Texas RB has 95 yards rushing on 17 carries and one member of the Texas media said he hasn't seen him run this hard all year.

The Longhorns need to wake up as the UCF fans are going wild. They are braving wild rainy weather to see their Knights put on a show right now. And wouldn't you know it? Shortly before the TD was scored, the sun came out over the Bright House.

Maybe the heavens are smiling over UCF.

There is still a lot more football to play.
