Run and Shoot: BUH-Bye

« More Important Than It Seems | Main | Well, that was quick »

BLACKSBURG, Va. - With 2:31 left in the game, the Hokie Nation can finally breath a sigh of relief.

Patrick Pinkney's pass on fourth down goes incomplete, Virginia Tech takes over at its own 36, and with a 10-point lead, it's time for Virginia Tech to run out the clock.

Of course, there's too much timeto be taking knees and doing that sort of thing, but with ECU not much for making the big play, owing to the lack of a seasoned quarterback, even if Virginia Tech was to go three-and-out here, it's not like the Pirates pose much of a threat at this point in the game.

The press box has pretty much emptied out at this point, as the outcome has been pretty safe for a while now. I'd still say these last few plays before we get into the business of taking knees are important, because this Virginia tech offense definitely hasn't shown its best today, and any more repetitions they can get are important, because next week's trip to LSU is going to require all three units for the Hokies to click on all cylinders. That hasn't happened here today.
