Fans amped for Governor's Cup game

LEXINGTON, Ky. - With about 90 minutes remaining until kickoff of the most anticipated Governor's Cup game in recent history, fans have begun to trickle in to Commonwealth Stadium on the campus of the University of Kentucky.

Right now, there's just as much Louisville red as Kentucky blue in the stadium, but that's likely because the vast majority of UK backers remain in the electric tailgating atmosphere outside the stadium.

Locals say they cannot recall a pregame atmosphere as amped up as the one today. UK head coach Rich Brooks said earlier this week that the fans in this rivalry share a "passion bordering on hatred." They also share an immense excitement about this game, which is slated to start at 7:30. We couldn't have any better weather than we've got here today, with temperatures in the mid- to upper-60s and a brisk wind.

Off to hit the pregame media spread. I'll be back with a pregame post just before kickoff.
