Halftime Update CU vs. OU

Colorado coach Dan Hawkins and the Buffs trail (AP) No. 3 Oklahoma at halftime in Boulder 17-7. Running back Hugh Charles has the only score for the Buffs, coming off a 25-yard touchdown run the second quarter.

Oklahoma got on the board first however, scoring on their third drive from scrimmage after a CU turnover. Bradford connected with wide receiver, Juaquin Iglesias for 13 yards in the back of the endzone. Charles' touchdown would tie up the ball game at 7-7, when three plays later the Sooners would answer with a 34-yard touchdown of their own, by Allen Patrick.

With just 48 seconds left in the half OU would add a 28-yard field goal by Garrett Hartley to round out the scoring in the first half. On the ensuing kickoff, the Buffs Terrence Wheatley would return the ball 33 yards to CU's 40 yard line. The Buffs would convert one first down and had one shot at the endzone with four seconds left.

CU quarterback, Cody Hawkins threw the ball 45 yards to the OU 5 yard line before it is knocked down by the Sooners. Hawkins is 12-19 for 115 yards and one interception. Charles leads the way on the ground for the Buffs with 52 yards on 12 carries.

Statistically speaking the two teams are in a dead heat. The Sooners were able to capitalize on the lone CU interception when D.J. Wolfe took the return 33 yards down to the Buffs 11 yard line. Other than that mistake the Buffs defense has held the potent OU offense in check, giving up most of their yardage late in the second quarter.

Offensively the Buffs have converted on 5 of 10 third down opportunities and will look to put themselves in better position on first and second down in the second half.
