Hokies finally put points on board

BATON ROUGE, La. - Virginia Tech avoided a shutout by engineering an 8-play, 65-yard drive that ended with a 1-yard touchdown run by quarterback Tyrod Taylor.

The touchdown was the first points the LSU defense has allowed since the second quarter of January's 41-14 Sugar Bowl win against Notre Dame.

With 4:38 remaining in the third quarter, LSU is up on Virginia Tech, 27-7.
