Matty Ice Cold

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College quarterback Matt Ryan - nicknamed "Matty Ice" - looked Heisman-worthy last week with 408 yards and 5 touchdowns against Wake Forest. Today, he's looked downright pedestrian.

The Eagles were stopped inside the 10-yard line after Ryan nearly had two passes picked off in the end zone. He is just 9 of 19 on the game for 80 yards and a TD and INT. He's been plagued by a few dropped passes (including an almost-sure touchdown for Brandon Robinson) but many of his passes were behind receivers or thrown into traffic.

His counterpart, Harrison Beck, is trying to lead NC State down the field for a tying score with under 2 minutes left. Whether he does it or not, one of these 2 signal callers will need to step up in the 2nd half.
