Nittany Lions Cut the Lead

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- After an impressive drive deep into Michigan territory, running back Austin Scott fumbled on a play that was upheld after review. But the Wolverines gave it right back after a short drive of their own when Mallett fumbled a snap from center Justin Boren.

Penn State moved the ball a little, and found itself with a 4th-and-1 on the Michigan 26. The Michigan Stadium crowd got loud, but Scott picked up the first down right up the middle. Morelli completed a pass to Derrick Williams to advance to the Michigan 2-yard line. But a running play to the left didn't get the Nittany Lions into the end zone, and there was holding called on the play. Surprisingly, Michigan gave Penn State another chance to score, but Morelli's pass was incomplete, and Kelly kicked a 29-yard field goal through the uprights to trim the deficit to one.
