RU-Navy: Rutgers Red

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - The Scarlet Knights have come out fired up.

After pinning the Mids deep in their own territory, the Knights D held and forced a punt.

That punt was either tipped or the pressure caused a poor punt as the Knights rushed the kicker. Rutgers got the ball back in Navy territory on the 40.

That's when a 30-yard pass from QB Mike Teel to Kenny Britt set up a short TD pass to freshman TE Shamar Graves.

For Graves, it was his first career TD and first career reception of any kind. A wonderful set of firsts for the scholastic sophomore and the Scarlet Knights.

This one is all Rutgers early.

Navy safety, senior Jeff Deliz was injured on the TD play.

The TD drive, 3 plays, 40 yards in 1:08. Not too bad for the Knights with 8:29 left in the first quarter. The score: Rutgers 7, Navy 0.
