All Tied Up

PISCATAWAY, NJ - Ray Rice is keeping Rutgers alive in this game. The running back is breaking tackles and finding holes in this supposedly impenetrable USF defense. Helped along by an egregious face mask penalty called on the Bulls for dragging Rice down by the untouchable part of the helmet, the Scarlet Knights just drive right downfield and tied the game at 10. The scoring play was a three-yard TD pass from Mike Teel to Tiquan Underwood after a first and goal from the 3 turned into a second and goal from the 6 and then into a third and goal from the three.

USF DB Trae Williams was close to ending the drive much, much earlier, as he had an interception in his hands on a brilliant dive in his own end zone, but dropped the ball on landing, giving the Scarlet Knights a second wind on the drive.

The Bulls are now putting together a drive of their own, but have already used two of their timeouts in this half with more than 12 minutes still remaining in the second quarter.
