He Can Kick, Too

PISCATAWAY, NJ - Jeremy Ito just lined up for a 51-yard field goal attempt and, much to the surprise of most people in the stadium, actually swung his leg on the kick. Ito's 51-yard field goal attempt split the uprights cleanly, making him as good a kicker as he is a passer (he is 1-for-1 for 36 yards passing tonight). And the Rutgers defense has yet to let up, sacking Grothe five times tonight through three quarters and three minutes of football.

Through three quarters, Grothe is leading USF in rushing (75 yards and a TD), but his passing numbers have declined considerably since his 9-of-13 first half start. In fact, he has yet to complete a pass in the second half, making his numbers look quite mousy at this point - 13 of 24 passing for 173 yards. He'll need to complete some passes if USF is going to get out of this 10-point hole and win this one
