Just Call Them The Scarlet Spoilers

PISCATAWAY, NJ - The Bulls had one final chance to win this game. With 1:33 on the clock, no timeouts and the ball at the Rutgers 49, Matt Grothe went to work. And got sacked. The relentless Rutgers defense got to this team once again, dropping Grothe for a costly 12-yard loss. On 4th and 22, Grothe appeared to have it, connecting with Amarri Jackson for a huge gain that would have been a first down, but the Jackson was called for offensive pass interference, sending the Bulls back to their own 24 with a 4th and 37. Grothe launched one, but this time Rutgers came down with it, sealing a huge win for the Scarlet Knights, who would not be denied.

Rutgers once again filled the roll of the spoiler, knocking off the nation's No. 2 team in a week where the Bulls had gotten nothing but respect for what they had done all week.

Can't wait to hear what Jim Leavitt has to say (or throw) about this one.
