Murray to the rescue

AMES, Iowa - A week ago, Chris Brown rode to Oklahoma's rescue. This week, apparently, it's redshirt freshman DeMarco Murray. Of course, it begs a question. Without the Sooners cup running over at running back, just where would they be.

After doing nothing with their first chance of the second half, OU finally got on the board with a 77-yard drive culminating in a Brown's 8-yard up-the-middle-dash with 8:35 left to play in the third quarter.

Brown got the touchdown and even finished the drive with three runs of 6, 3 and 8 yards, but it was Murray that made it happen with consecutive carries of 6, 10, 10 and 11 yards.

The crowd, just announced at 49,511, has been silenced. A Sooner bonus, OU made it happen with the same running game that garnered only 37 yards on 15 first-half carries. Apparently, the offensive line was challenged at the half.

Of course, Iowa State would have taken a 7-7 tie in the middle of the third quarter all day long. Still, the tide appears to have turned.
