Points off turnovers/First quarter recap

BOULDER, Colo. -

The Buffs amidst an 8 play drive turned the ball over on the the Kansas 11-yard line. Colorado running back Hugh Charles, in an effort to stretch for the first down lost control of the ball and gave up a scoring opportunity.

Kansas then took the ball 60 yards and scored on a 48-yard field goal by Scott Webb. Jayhawk quarterback Todd Reesing, on a broken play took the ball 53 yards down to the Buff's 30, but CU's defense held and limited the Jayhawks to three points.

The Buffs offense has looked a little weary on first and second downs, giving the Buffs several third and long situations. In the first quarter CU rushed for 35 yards on nine carries and threw for 36. Kansas did a good job of managing the ball in the first quarter and was led by the quick feet and mind of quarterback Todd Reesing. In addition to his 53-yard scamper, Reesing was 4-5 for 19 yards in the first stanza.
