Signs of Life from Tar Heel Defense

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- Just when it looked like the Tar Heels had no answers for the Gamecock attack, the defense came though with a big stop. With USC marching into Tar Heel territory, freshman tackle Marvin Austin burst through the line, forcing Chris Smelley into an intentional grounding penalty. On the next play, defensive end E.J. Wilson jumped the screen but dropped a gimme INT that wwould've left him with nothing but open field ahead. A golden opportunity literally slips through the Tar Heels' fingers.
