Welcome To Beautiful Piscataway

PISCATAWAY, NJ - The kickoff hour has arrived, and the chants of "RU! RU!" can be heard miles away. Rutgers-USF is on tap here at Rutgers Stadium and the fans are ready for the biggest game these Rutgers fans have seen since, well, last year.

Rutgers is an expert at knocking other teams out of the national title picture, and they're getting ready to do so again here tonight. Except USF, the BCS' No. 2 pick, has other plans. It's a muggy 73 degrees here in Jersey, which makes it feel more like a USF environment than a stormy Noreaster. But all that Red slowly but surely filling up the stands is a clear marker that we're not in Florida anymore. With kickoff still about 45 minutes away, there are plenty of empty seats inside the stadium as kickers attempt ridiculously long field goals and receivers practice their routes, but the tailgating is going strong in the grounds outside and rest assured, the Scarlet faithful will have this place rocking within the hour.

Now on to the game. Topping your "players to watch for" list should obviously be Rutgers' No. 27, running back Ray Rice. No one has rushed for 100+ yards against this stout USF defense since Rice did so last season, and he'll be raring to go again tonight, for sure, especially after last week's 180-yard performance. Remember, Rutgers specializes in playing spoiler.

On the Green side, watch USF No. 95 George Selvie. The nation's sack leader has 11.5 so far and would love to wrap up this Scarlet Knight passing attack a few times to pad his stats.

With both teams now stretching on the field (USF in 7 separate circles and Rutgers in more traditional rows along the yard line markers), the countdown is waning. Stay tuned for all the action here in lovely Piscataway.
