Haltime in Hawaii

Since both Hawaii and Boise State are well aware of what is at stake, neither team is backing down this evening at Aloha Stadium. The score at the half, a tight 19-17 lead for the Warriors.

Hawaii took advantage of their field position at the close of the first quarter to nab their second touchdown of the night with less than a minute into the second quarter. The Warriors were unable to convert on the ensuing kick , resulting in a 13-7 lead for UH.

With 8:39 on the clock Boise State, on a one-yard touchdown run from Ian Johnson and a Kyle Brotzman kick, regained the lead, a 14-13 advantage.

Just over three minutes later Colt Brennan found Davone Bess for the 23-yard touchdown pass, but again Hawaii failed to convert the extra point. Boise State twice blocked the kick in the second half. Hawaii led 19-14 with just over five minutes left in the half.

Boise could only get a field goal on the ensuing possession, for a 19-17 game. On 2-16 for the Warriors at the Hawaii 37 yard line, Boise State junior Mike T. Williams intercepted a Colt Brennan pass, but Boise failed to score as the Brotzman field goal attempt was short.

Hawaii took a knee to end the half.
