Wide Left

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Seminoles had a chance to go up on No. 2 Boston College, but their history of errant field goal attempt.

Gary Cismesia missed a 48-yard attempt wide left, in a game where the defenses have done plenty of bending, but haven't broken yet.

Several long pass plays from Matt Ryan and three big third down conversions from FSU running back Antone Smith have kept both defenses reeling, but neither has broken thus far. Twice FSU has played its way out of field goal range, and BC's lone red zone chance ended in an interception. The rain is clearly playing into the defense's hands.

UPDATE: a 52-yard pass to Andre Callender - who caught last week's game-winning touchdown against Virginia Tech - has BC inside the 5-yard line.
