Fresno State takes lead in second quarter

BOISE, Idaho — Fresno State running back Clifton Smith scored from 6 yards out to give the Bulldogs a 10-7 lead with 10 minutes, 55 seconds remaining in the first half.
The crowd here at Bronco Stadium is definitely pro-Fresno State, with many Boise State fans holding allegience to the WAC.

The Bulldogs would have have had a bigger lead had it not been for a strong Georgia Tech stand inside their own 5-yard line in the first quarter. Fresno State had first-and-goal on the Yellow Jacket 5-yard line, but after gaining just one year on three straight running plays, the Bulldogs had to settle for a field goal to make it Georgia Tech 7, Fresno State 3.
Quarterback Taylor Bennett put Georgia Tech on the scoreboard first wih a 35-yard touchdown pass to receiver Demaryius Thomas in the first quarter to give Georgia Tech an early 7-0 lead.
