PSU-A&M: Everything's normal for Penn State

SAN ANTONIO, TX -- Penn State's modus operandi for this season has been to start slow, then unleash with fury. The Coming into the game, the Lions' cumulative 1st quarter scoreboard read 72-72, but Penn State had dominated their opponents by a 114-21 mark in the second quarter.

Tonight has been no different -- Texas A&M led the game 14-0 after the first 15 minutes, but Penn State owned the second quarter and heads into half with a 17-14 lead.

Both teams scored their first two TDs in BAM-BAM fashion -- each scored a TD, forced a quick turnover, and then immediately punched in another score.

A&M tailback Mike Goodson scored his two TDs 12 seconds apart thanks to a Penn State kickoff fumble, but the Aggies couldn't muster any offense in the second quarter.

After outgaining Penn State 96-89 in the first, A&M only generated 28 yards of offense in the second quarter, while the Nittany Lions rolled up 155.

Penn State got their TDs on a diving 30-yard catch by Deon Butler on a 4th-and-3, and then immediately following an A&M fumble, an 11-yard run by backup QB Daryll Clark.

Late in the half, the Lions drove 78 yards in 16 plays and took the lead on Kevin Kelly's 25-yard FG.
