C-USA: Rice, Tulsa, SMU Top Pre-Season Poll

The Rice Owls have been picked for the second year in a row to win Conference USA, while defending champion Tulsa and SMU are tied for a close second in the pre-season C-USA Women's Basketball Poll.

Here's the pre-season poll in it's entirety, with first place votes in parentheses....

1) Rice (10) - 142 pts.
2t) Tulsa (1) - 113 pts.
2t) SMU - 113 pts.
4) Houston (1) - 99 pts.
5) Southern Miss - 97 pts.
6) Tulane - 83 pts.
7) East Carolina - 78 pts.
8) UAB - 70 pts.
9) Marshall - 59 pts.
10) UTEP - 38 pts.
11) UCF - 27 pts.
12) Memphis - 17 pts.

The Pre-season Coaches' All-Conference Team was also announced, with Tulsa's Jillian Robbins tabbed the Pre-Season Player of the Year. Robbins, a senior, tore the conference apart, averaging 17.9 points and 12.8 rebounds a game. Here's the whole first team....

G - Tye Jackson - Houston - 5-10 Jr.
G - Carmen Guzman - UAB - 5-9 Sr.
