Baylor at Oklahoma: Grapefruit Juice

By Jeff Lippman - February 28, 2007

On Senior night in her last game at Oklahoma, Chelsi Welch is putting on a show.

The 5-foot-9 guard is shooting lights out as she hit dagger after dagger to keep the Sooners out of Baylor's reach. At the half, she has 11 points on 3-of-5 shooting, 3-for-3 from long range.

The Bears aren't going away, down 45-34 at halftime. It could have been worse, Latara Darrett nailed a three-pointer as time expired before the half.

Right now a woman dressed in bright green is riding a very tall unicycle and catching cereal bowls on her head...Just thought you'd like to know, I know I would.

Baylor's All-American candidate Bernice Mosby is suffering through a tough game. Currently she is 1-for-7 from the field with two points and two boards, to go with two fouls. She only lost one contact, though.

Leading the Sooners in scoring, of course, is Courtney Paris, who missed four quick shots early, but rebounded--no pun intended--nicely, finishing the half with 15 points on 5-of-11 shooting and grabbing seven boards. She's well on her way to her 60th career and 55th consecutive double-double.

I say she get's it. Wanna bet?

And the crowd just went wild as the green unicycler caught all the bowls on her head in dramatic fashion.
