Big XII: Cowgirl Comeback, KU up in close one

By Jean Neuberger - March 06, 2007

The nerves having seemed to vanish, OSU went on an 11-0 tear to take its first lead at 18-16. However, Kansas has shown that they are in no mood to fold to the Cowgirls. Kelly Kohn sparked an 8-2 run for the Jayhawks, and now it's 26-25 Kansas with 7:45 to go.

The small band of Kansas fans are cheering, but remain cautious, knowing that the Jayhawks need to continue playing this hard to have a chance of pulling the upset. OSU's crowd is currently on their feet and clapping, trying to rally on their team. Although not down, the Cowgirl fans are somewhat stunned by the solid performance of Kansas tonight.

It's become a showdown between four players on the court. For Kansas, Kohn and Shaniqua Mosley are the two players who have picked up where Danielle McCray started, while Andrea Riley and Danielle Green are carrying their squad on their backs.

So far though, it's been a competitive, exciting basketball game in OKC, and you can't ask for anything less from both teams.
