Big XII: Cyclones Starting to Pull Away

By Jean Neuberger - March 06, 2007

Finally, the run that ISU was looking for became reality, as the Cyclones have pushed the lead to eight, 51-43, with 3:07 to go. The run was sparked by a string of 3-pointers by Lyndsey Medders, Nicky Wieben, and Alison Lacey, and KSU has had no answer from the perimeter, relying only on inside buckets from Ashley Sweat and Shana Wheeler to get points.

It's starting to unravel for the Wildcats, and the mass of red and gold across from me at press row are becoming raucous, sensing blood in the water, and victory for their beloved Cyclones.

Just now, Nicky Wieben completed a 3-point play for ISU, who are feeling it right now and getting more and more pumped by the second. It's Iowa State by 11 now, 54-43, with two minutes to go in the game.
