Big XII: Iowa State Fighting Back

By Jean Neuberger - March 07, 2007

The Cyclone D, led by Megan Ronhovde, has been outstanding this half, holding Nebraska to just six points in the first nine minutes, and Iowa State has clawed back to within two points, 51-49, with 11:01 to go. ISU has also benefitted from the emergence of Toccora Ross, who now has eight points in the game.

No question, this game has the makings of an instant classic, as the ISU fans have awakened this arena to loud cheers and GO CYCLONES chants. However, Nebraska has stayed composed for the moment, scoring on a one-handed, off-balance prayer by Kelsey Griffin to push the Husker lead back up to four.

Should be a barnburner again in OKC, as Nebraska tries to stop a persistent Iowa State squad.
