ECU-Rutgers: Putting ECU Down

By Jeff Lippman - March 18, 2007

Is this game finally over? Yes? Thank you.

So...Rutgers won.

The Scarlet Knights got 20 points from Matee Ajavon, 14 from Kia Vaughn and played their scrubs for most of the second half, while still increasing the final margin to 77-34.

ECU managed to shoot only 16.4 percent for the entire game! Someone should have shot them, put them out of their misery.

In ECU's defense, the rebounding differential was within one.

Truth be told, Rutgers didn't even play their best game. East Carolina didn't hit a second-half field goal until there was 11 minutes to go!

They finished the second half 3-of-30 for a total of 13 points.

Rutgers will tangle with 5-seed Michigan State on Tuesday. ECU is going home, bunch of swashbucklers.

It's been a long day. Three bad games and one decent one, been up since 3 a.m., this blog is officially done for the night. Until the next post...
