GT-Miami: On Second Thought...

By Jeff Lippman - March 01, 2007

Maybe Miami isn't in da house.

I say that for two reasons.

Reason #1: While perusing the stands I noticed that if you put all the Miami fans in the stadium together in a Volkswagen Beetle, you'd still have room for groceries. There are literally like 10 Hurricanes fans here, aside from the cheerleaders, band and the team themselves.

Reason #2: Fans usually don't identify with losers and that is exactly what the 'Canes are doing. Losing. The score at halftime is Georgia Tech 37, Miami 26.

Janie Mitchell continues to pace GT in scoring with 14 first-half points to go with three rebounds. Meanwhile, for Miami, Charmaine Clark leads the way with eight points on 3-of-5 shooting.

Miami is actually shooting at a better clip than the Jackets (52 percent compared to 45) but the 'Canes have taken 10 fewer shots and have turned the ball over 13 times already to GT's seven.
