Miss-Tenn: The Tiger Woods of Women's Basketball

By Jeff Lippman - March 27, 2007

Unfortunately for the Rebels of Ole Miss, it looks like the road will end here.

And this is not how they wanted to go down.

With 4:15 left in the first half, this one has gotten out of hand. The score is 44-20, and out of that 20 points for Ole Miss, Armintie Price has 15. Ashley Awkward has four.

Price is doing everything she can do to keep her team in the game, her teammates just aren't helping her.

Candace Parker is on another planet. She has 14 points for the Vols, but has at least four blocks and nine rebounds as well.

With every single stare down she gives after a block or made basket, Parker resembles more and more, the likes of Kobe Bryant. And her game is beginning to take that shape as well.

She is not just the best player in women's basketball or the best player to ever wear a Tennessee uniform, Parker is proving she is much more.

Candace Parker could very easily become to women's basketball what Tiger Woods is to golf, Lance Armstrong to cycling. She is that good. She will one day transcend her sport to a level of greatness attained by only those who can so thoroughly dominate their sport that there is no one else in the conversation as to who the best player is.
