Pack-FSU: Wuf Wuf

By Jeff Lippman - March 02, 2007

Oh, did I spell woof wrong?

No, in fact, N.C. State's mascot's name is Mr. Wuf. Sound that out, it doesn't even sound like woof. I don't get it. It's not like the back of the mascot's jersey doesn't have enough room to include the one extra letter to make it Mr. Woof.

I asked an N.C. State radio guy sitting next to me why the Pack went with the misspelling and he just laughed, shrugged and agreed it was a little off.

Ah well. I guess you could say that whoever came up with the mascot's name was barking mad.

I like that one, you don't have to, but I thought that was funny.

With just under four minutes to play in the half, N.C. State has increased its lead on FSU to 25-18 on the back of senior center Goring, who already has a double double with 12 points and 12 rebounds.

There isn't a player on the court who can bang with Goring and if I were State, I'd be feeding the ball to her every single time. Being FSU's tallest player is 6-foot-4 and isn't even a starter, I'd say the 'Noles don't have an answer for State's low-post monster.

I'd like to read this, but gray-on-white small print is hard on my 61-year-old eyes.

Blowing it up to 125% helps, but black-on-white print would be wonderful. Any chance you'd switch to black?
